Phoenix Summit Challenge 2012

One of the most popular hiking events in Arizona is back! Formerly known as "The Seven Summits of Phoenix" this year's mega trek will be held on November 9, 10 and 11, 2012.  Participants can choose from events ranging from barrier-free walks to fast and furious competitive climbs.  Although the particulars of the events are still in the planning stages, it's not too early to start getting in shape (Humphreys, anybody?) for the big  weekend.  More info will become available later this summer.

Here's how to navigate the  City of Phoenix website (Phoenix.gov):  Go to "Departments"
and then find the Parks and Recreation Department. On the Parks Page, go
to "Trails and Desert Preserves" which is the Natural Resources
Division location of the site. In the list on the left, you will find "Calendar
of events".  When you move the calendar to November 2012, you
will see that the Challenge will be  held on November 9 through 11,
2012. Challenge information will be here and updated as it arrives. 



Registration usually begins in August, so check the City of Phoenix Web site  later this summer:
